isn't this from the story of the brother and sister in the woods that weren't suppose to drink from some kind of river? Anyways, it's beautiful!

It's simply called Brother and Sister, I found it on wikipedia again --> [link]
I had a little book of the story when I was little.
You're welcome btw, I really like your work :)

ahhh ;;
If it's not too nosy, what type of pencils and paper do you use?

UUuuuumm for regular pencils I just use .3 staedtler on either bristol vellum or on cardstock paper in a color that I like.
For the red pencil I use .5 steadtler because I can't find it any smaller :(
And sometimes I use a brown color pencil I found in my drawer. Do you have any tips or favorites as far as pencils go? I'm getting into pencil work more again, and I'm trying to actually make use of better techniques and materials now but I don't have much formal art training so I don't really know to much about what works best beyond my own farting around.

Ah okay, that explains how you can get so many tiny details in! Thanks so much for sharing, it means a lot. I love .3mm but I'm not sure if I'm using it to its fullest potential since my lines are comparatively thick. I haven't seen smaller coloured lead unfortunately... but I will keep on the lookout! I don't have any coloured lead myself, and you're really making me want to give it a go. (The red you use goes very well with the warm sepia tone.)

Oh yikes I don't know... I use silly office-grade supplies mainly, save for Staedtler art pencils and charcoal. I typically use this this Pentel pencil. I like to mess around with the hardness of lead, too-- H or 2H is best for me I think since I rely on my lines so much and it can get a little messy and smudgy if I use a B.
Do you ever paint? I've been meaning to try that weird Yupo paper-- it's for watercolour, but it's smooth as baby butts!

AHH RAMBLING. I'm so sorry!

The kind of painting it usually do it like....watercolor layers that look like marker and marker that looks like water color...haha so I guess it's kinda painting but kinda not because I never paint in a way that looks like painting anymore.
I think next ima try and paint more after I get bored of doing all this pencil because I haven't done real painting in hella days, especially oil.
I want to try this Yupo thing now!!! ARG I NEED TO TRY SO MANY MORE THINGS!
I can tell that I'm in that place where if I don't start experimenting more and getting out of my comfort zone my art is going to be awful forever.
Especially with lines....I need to rework less. I kind of need to put myself on restriction from H and lighter for a while because I keep reworking and ruining my paper T___T So I'm going to force myself to work with the color pencils and with softer tones and like...relax and just see where the drawing takes me.
Okay thanks for listening to MY art problems. LOLS
So have you gone to school for art?

Well your markers are very convincingly paint-looking, and I think that's actually really impressive! I certainly can't use them that way. I'm so clueless about so many things XD I only understand pencils heeelllp. Horf horf. TRY THE YUPOOOooo resist rubbing your face against it though ahaha sometimes I can't restrain myself...
but your art isn't awful at all oh my god how can you say that! It's so elegant and you have technical skill mixed with interesting concepts and they come together so nicely. I want to experiment more too though, I draw the same thing over and over and I think I'm getting cabin fever. I guess we know what our resolutions are, heh.
I like to listen, it's really no problem!
I went to MCAD for freshman year, and took some community college art classes. I had a pretty miserable experience at the art school for a lot of reasons, some I can blame on the school and some I can't. I learned a lot, definitely! I'm applying to a different one now, so I can hopefully kick my previous experiences and deal with the stress better.

That's awesome...a part of me really wants to go to art school at some point, but yeah I hear a lot of people just don't fit once there >__<. I feel like I would be one of those people. I can get a little pissy about my work process, I feel like even if I tried to be mature about it I'd eventually get overwhelmed by how intense it becomes and throw a fit.
Also I think that at least where I am now, art is not meant to be my profession (but rather something that I come home to), so I have to admire people who are willing to stick with it, it's a lot of work but OMGEEEE your skills get so good when you're in school!
I'm like...so torn though, because it is kinda hard to know what direction to take without an outside perspective from a teacher or whoever and I still would like to get better and better.
GOOOD LUCK IN ART SCHOOOOLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your experience. Here's how it will work: you pay to go to art school and do all the work and I will sit on dA and tumblr and pick your brain BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
